Blog vs Wiki

A Blog is a discussion or information site.  Bloggers write about topics that matter to them.  Their audience may be large or small.  They foster community and conversation by allowing readers to comment on postings. (1) Blogs usually are not edited once published.  Also, you can add graphs and videos to blogs.  Blogs run in reverse chronological order.

A Wiki is a set of websites where a set of webpages become online documents that can be created or edited by several authors.(2) They can be public or private, and are very good for collaborative work. People can add, modify, or delete content.  Wiki’s run in chronological order.  It differs from a blog in that the content is created with no defined owner or leader.

Convergence in new media is very important today.  The use of multiple communication modes in any network offers convenience and flexibility.   Now you can read and article, listen to a song, or watch a video almost all in the same place on certain media sites.
